The parties went great last week! The kids and the tutors all had a great time! I need some people to come in and read to the kids during January, if you are willing, please let me know. I will have everything ready for you, you just have to show up! Thanks to everyone!

We had kindergartners today in the program instead of the typical third graders. The tutors did a great job adapting to the little kids, and the kids did great too. Over all a great day. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Today I just found out during Homework House that two of the the fifth grade boys in the program are reading at a second grade level, and one of the fifth grade girls is reading at a third grade level. While I knew that most of the kids were reading below their grade level, it came as a shock that there were ones who were that low. After being involved with the program for three years, I it should not surprise me, but it did anyway. I am now working with their teachers to form activities that will meet their individual needs. With hard work and specialized attention, I hope that these kids can improve greatly this year!
