Back At It!

Hey everyone! Today is my first day back, summer vacation was great and I hope yours was too! I hope to know times and dates for Homework House in the next few weeks! I'm really excited about this year and I can't wait to see many of you again! Let me know if you are interested in tutoring again this year!

Fall Semester

We're getting really close to starting a new semester of Homework House. We will be starting at United Church Outreach Ministry the week of the 21st putting together supplies for the program. The week of the 28th we will be starting in the schools! With more than 80% of the children being Hispanic, this is a great opportunity for both English students and those from the Spanish department. Also we have a number of community volunteers. Check back here often for updates through out the semester! Please feel free to post anything you would like here!

Summer time!!

Hey everyone! I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer! We had a great last semester with the kids! The Kindergartners loved the pajamas that we were able to give them! The other grades were really sad to see us leave! If you are one of the people who expressed possible interest in tutoring again next semester, please let me know so I can be in contact with you next fall!

Creative Times!!

This week the tutors are being very creative and making awards / motivational cards for the students. The kids will get the awards at the end of the semester. Everyone is having a great time so far and the awards are looking great!

Homework House

The first week of Homework House went really well. Monday we had 4th and 5th graders. Tuesday we had 3rd grade. Wednesday and Thursday we had Kindergarteners. On Thursday things didn’t go as planned, but I thought that it was almost more fun. We helped the Kindergarteners with their homework and then played board games with them in the gym. They were so excited to have their tutors there and that they only had to do a little bit of homework before playing the rest of the time. All of the students are SOOOOO excited to have their tutors back, especially the ones who have the same tutor as last semester! Thanks to those tutors who came back for another semester!!!!! I am really glad that this semester has started off so smoothly and I am sure that it will continue. Please let me know your thoughts after completing your first week!
